Florent Dufour
Florent Dufour is a Ph.D. student at the Chair for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and a research associate in Big Data and AI at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ).
At LRZ, his primary role focuses on developing a pilot Trusted Research Environment for hosting and processing multi-omic cardiovascular data, with a strong emphasis on ensuring data security, regulatory compliance, and individual privacy protection. He collaborates with clinical researchers, bioinformaticians, and computer scientists to ensure the practical and ethical application of AI technologies in the cloud.
Florent's research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, privacy, and security. His work as a Ph.D student explores the use of differential privacy and trusted execution environments to build trustworthy, secure, and robust AI systems for health research in the cloud. By overcoming challenges in balancing data utility and privacy, he seeks to advance medical research in the cloud in ways that prioritize patient trust and safety.
